Writing the Best Book Report

Have you ever wondered why you have to write a book report for almost every book you read. You have read the book why do you need to present the information. If someone else wants to know what the book is about they should read it themselves. This is how most students feel about this assignment.
One thing you should understand is that doing a report or knowing that you will have to do a book report will make you think about the book a little more when you are reading it and try to understand the characters in the book or the author a little more.
Why did the author feel compelled to put this character into this situation instead of offering this choice? One reason is that when writing a good novel an author needs to have a conflict to create a dramatic effect. If the book was not interesting no one would read it and a good writer will create a very interesting twist in the book which will keep you guessing until the end. This drama will be resolved in the final chapter but you can determine why it was resolved in this fashion or if there could be another and maybe better alternative to the writer's choice of endings.
So when you have to prepare to write your book report consider this is like writing your review of the story. When you review food or a new curling iron you give your thoughts on what the food tastes like and why you like or dislike its texture and flavor. When you rate a piece of equipment you state why it worked so well. Maybe the ease was simple and quick and involved less steps.
Tell your book review with why you liked what the author did and how they displayed and create their characters. Did they make them menacing or very colorful? How did the book make you feel about the characters? Did you like them? Maybe you felt sorry for the situation they were involved with and wanted to help.
All of this information determines how the author was able to draw you into the life and information happening in the book.
If you felt something from this book then tell about it and how the author was able to convey this feeling through you in your eyes.
This is why teachers ask students to write book reports to learn and feel the great vastness of writing and how it teaches you to think when you read.
