Top Tunes for Delivery Drivers

The transporters of delivering goods and picking up back loads often have to spend long hours cruising the open roads. Although some are quite happy to enjoy the scenery, others are prone to boredom. Those in the latter group could make their time behind the wheel a little more enjoyable by playing the following tracks.
Drive South - Suzy Bogguss
This track about a Chevy van is very apt for drivers dropping off or picking up back loads. It features the lyrics, 'windows open on the rest of the world, holding hands all the way to Disneyland' and has a foot stomping rhythm - bound to put a smile on even the most weary face. There's even some up-tempo ukulele playing thrown in for good measure.
Drive (For Daddy Gene) - Alan Jackson
You'd better have a hanky by your side if you're going to play this heartfelt song about a deceased father. The singer really lets his emotions flow as the words, 'I'd sit up in the seat and stretch my feet out to the pedals/Smiling like a hero that just received his medal,' are gently crooned. By the time that the track comes to an end you'll have forgotten about any problems regarding the transportation of goods and back loads.
On The Road Again - Willie Nelson
There's an entire generation of American lorry drivers that have been kept entertained by the music of this country hero. You too will find it hard to stop tapping away to the funky shuffle beat of this well-known track. However, you should resist the temptation to join in the happy hand-clapping if you want to avoid bumps and scrapes!
Take Me Home Country Roads - John Denver
The albums of John Denver can be found among the collections of many van and lorry drivers. The type of music that he produces is absolutely ideal for times spent behind the wheel. And this famous piece, complete with the lyrics, 'country roads take me home, to the place I belong', is an absolute classic.
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
There is a wide variety of Queen tracks that would act as the perfect accompaniment to a road trip. You could bang along on the wheel to the sounds of We Will Rock You, or dream of happy days while listening to Bicycle Race. However, for a truly epic tune to overcome a week filled with deliveries and back loads you should crank Bohemian Rhapsody up to full volume. Strum away at the air guitar in time with the Brian May solo - all in your head of course!
Road Trippin - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Wind the windows down and let the wind rush through your hair while listening to this cruising tune. You're bound to enjoy the gently fingerpicked guitar and the lyrics about 'road trippin with my two favourite allies' are likely to seem pertinent. Just don't forget about your deliveries in your excitement!
